Would You Rather Have Intelligence or Wisdom?
You can be incredibly intelligent and still make incredibly unwise choices. So, if you had to choose, would you rather have the intelligence of the world or the wisdom that comes from God?
James 3 challenges us to understand the difference between worldly intelligence and Godly wisdom. Worldly thinking produces selfish ambition, jealousy, disorder, and a pursuit of temporary happiness. But wisdom from above produces purity, peace, gentleness, mercy, good fruit, impartiality, and sincerity. The question is not simply how smart we are, but whose wisdom we are following. When we seek God’s wisdom and put His Word into practice, we move from chasing happiness to discovering lasting joy and a harvest of righteousness.
