Are we comparing ourselves to others… or measuring ourselves by God’s standard?

In this message from Luke 18, we explore the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector and what it reveals about righteousness, humility, and grace. One man proudly lists his accomplishments before God, while the other humbly admits his brokenness and asks for mercy. Jesus makes it clear that true righteousness doesn’t come from religion, comparison, or outward appearances—it comes through humility and dependence on God. This sermon challenges us to stop focusing on the flaws of others and honestly examine our own hearts so we can see ourselves and others through the eyes of grace.
