In James 2, we're reminded that while everyone has favorite movies, restaurants, or hobbies, God draws a sharp line between having favorites and showing favoritism. Favoritism is giving preference to one person at the expense of another, and Scripture calls it sin. Every person is created in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, grace, and mercy. As followers of Christ, we're called to reject discrimination, love our neighbors without partiality, and remember that the royal law is simple: love God and love others. When the church lives this out, the gospel shines with hope for everyone.
